This blog is all about music from a point of view of a child and her parent.

The music is in our every day life

I have to admit that the time my child has in the music wonderland is highly comparative with the time and energy I have after working and studying. For many weeks, there was no time. I am really happy that the kindergarten also offers culture in many forms. They go to the concerts and theatres sometimes even twice a week. That gives a bit better consciense for us who don't have energy on weekends. And of course, there are many children whose parents don't think culture is important.

After all, going to concerts or other happenings is not the main thing. This spring I worked for many weeks so that from monday to friday I saw Elli only 2 hours per day. She missed me so much and I missed her. Now after those weeks I realise how important role music has in our everyday life. I tend to sing a lot with Elli. We sing when we walk home from the bus stop. And of course I sing the lullaby every night. Sometimes we listen to the music and dance. Elli does some movements she has learned in ballet lessons. I just hang around.

We haven't been in classical music concerts this year at all. Maybe I miss them more than Elli does. I think all culture happenings are great. I really love to see Elli enjoying at theatre or concert hall. But Elli seems to be quite happy without them too. Maybe for her it is more important to spend time with me.
